Today was not a very good day. I really thought it had potential.
My afternoon class was cancelled, so I only had to show up at the Child Study Center for my morning lab. (Basically, it's a "lab" where I get to hang out with some super awesome kiddos...and take notes.)
Each week, we are assigned a different "job" in the classroom, and I had snack this week. This requires doing dishes at the end of the lab which is something I always dread. Well, somehow along the way I volunteered myself to do not only my dishes, but also the dishes from the other classroom as well. In the process of doing my good deed for the day, I had a freak incident with the sink plug getting stuck in the sink. It was vacuum tight! I spent the next half hour pouring water into the other sink with a little cup until I could finally wrestle the plug out with some force.
Minus this little delay, I figured I was doing okay for the day.
Then I decided that since it was such a lovely day out (better than most we've had) I would walk back to my apartment instead of taking the bus. I felt much better when I got back after having walked off any frustrations from my lab.
Here's where it goes from tolerable to embarrassing. I never never never never never forget my seat belt, but on this particular evening, my brain apparently had too much happy gas from the aforementioned walk. And the one time I forgot, I received a little ticket from Officer Kyle reminding me to put it on next time. It was SO embarrassing. The first ticket I've ever gotten.
A little while later, I was at a store when the song "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter came over the radio. She has claimed it to be our song of the day (with some not so happy experiences of her own today as well.)
Needless to say, I came back home, took an online exam, and ate some cookie dough.
